Kathmandu. U.S. President Donald Trump says he is suspending attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure for five days after fruitful talks with Tehran. However, Iran has denied that talks took place.

The news of the suspension came after Trump threatened to destroy all Iranian infrastructure if Iran did not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

Iran has rejected claims of peace talks and said the situation in conflict persists. The head of Iran’s parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said Tehran was not yet ready for talks with Washington.

In response to Trump’s remarks, Ghalibaf said that the Iranian people have demanded that the attackers be punished. Confirming that there were no talks with the United States, he said Trump’s latest effort was an excuse to ease the situation by easing the financial and oil markets.

Iran’s Fars news agency said it was not in contact with Trump, while the Foreign Ministry said Trump’s remarks were an attempt to lower energy prices and balance markets for military purposes.
