Kathmandu. The number of power tripping and stoppage time has decreased significantly compared to the last fiscal year.

According to the statistics of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Distribution and Customer Service Directorate, the number of tripping and interruption time has decreased significantly in all provinces and centers in the fiscal year 2008/083 as compared to the fiscal year 081/082.

According to NEA, the problem of tripping has decreased significantly in comparison to last year due to improvement in technical problems along with improvement of transmission and distribution lines and substations.

NEA Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya said, “The data shows that the number of tripping and interruption time of electricity have decreased every month compared to the fiscal year 081/082. ’

He said that the reduction in the number of tripping of electricity and the stoppage time has provided much relief to the electricity consumers. “The statistics show that there has been a significant improvement this year compared to the number of trips a year ago,” said Shakley, adding, “This is the result of technical improvements, systemic improvements, training of skilled human resources and management of the NRA.” ’

He said that NEA has been continuously working to identify and improve the substations where tripping is high and to shift the load there. Even though both the number of tripping and the stoppage time have decreased significantly, the NEA hopes that if such positive things reach the customers through communication, the NEA hopes that if such positive things reach the customers through communication, it will give a positive message.

According to Shakya, the statistics of the NRA show that tripping has decreased significantly in all seven provinces and central governments in the fiscal year 20082/083 as compared to 081÷082.

According to the NRA’s data, tripping decreased significantly in the fiscal year 082÷083 compared to 081÷082 from mid-July to mid-March. The same situation is seen in the statistics of all seven provinces.

Stating that the problem of tripping will be more in March, April, May and June as compared to other months, the NEA is optimistic that the number of tripping will decrease in these months as compared to the fiscal year 2081/082. In the fiscal year 2008/082, 86 trippings were done 86 times, 109 times in April, 150 times in May, and 153 times in June, which disrupted 42, 57, 84 and 65 hours respectively.

According to NEA, this has been possible due to the positive steps taken to provide quality, reliable and adequate electricity to the consumers. According to the NRA, the number of tripping cases has increased in April, May and June last year due to storms and rain.
