Kathmandu. Most of the members who took oath of office and secrecy in the House of Representatives today are new faces. Most of the lawmakers elected in the elections held on March 4 are new faces while only a limited number of party members have been elected twice or more times.
The top leadership of other political parties participating in the election except the leadership of Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantrik Party), Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and Labour Culture Party will not be seen in the parliament. The RSP won 182 seats in the election and 14 lawmakers have been re-elected this time.
Party President Rabi Lamichhane, Vice-Presidents Dol Prasad Aryal and Dr Swarnim Wagle were also present in the parliament before this. Likewise, Indira Rana Magar, Dr Amresh Kumar Singh, Sobita Gautam, Shishir Khanal, Ganesh Parajuli, Hari Dhakal, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Nisha Dangi, Manish Jha and Tosima Karki are the lawmakers who will be re-elected as MPs. They were elected through the direct election system.
Out of 38 lawmakers elected from the Nepali Congress, eight are re-elected in this election. Lawmakers Arjun Narsingh KC, Bhishma Raj Angdembe, Mohan Acharya, Bharat Bahadur Khadka, Janak Giri, Chandra Mohan Yadav, Tek Bahadur Guru, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali, Chandra Mohan Yadav and Abhishek Pratap Sah have been lawmakers in the past.
Among the 25 lawmakers elected from the CPN-UML, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Padma Aryal, Yagya Bahadur Bogati, Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai, Laxmi Prasad Pokharel and Suhang Nembang have been re-elected.
Out of the 17 elected members of the Communist Party of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Matrika Prasad Yadav, Barshaman Pun, Dhan Bahadur Budha and Mahendra Bahadur Shahi have been re-elected. Gyanendra Bahadur Shah has been re-elected from the RPP. He is the only directly elected lawmaker from the party.
