Kathmandu. At least 15 US soldiers have been wounded in a missile and drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan air base. Five people are in critical condition in the attack. More than 300 U.S. troops have been wounded in the region.

Iran fired six ballistic missiles and 29 drones. The U.S. military has sent more troops and aircraft to the Middle East. Along with this, strike fighter aircraft and other attack equipment have also been sent as part of regional preparations.

The Saudi air base is about 96 km from Riyadh and is also used by US troops. The base has been a target in the region since the start of the war.

Most of the wounded soldiers have returned, but 30 are still out and 10 are classified as critically wounded, according to US officials.

Iran has hit Israel and the Gulf Arab states in response to the attacks by the US and Israel. The war has affected global air travel and oil supplies.

Experts say Iran’s goal is not just to kill U.S. troops, it’s a strategy to affect the economic stability of the U.S. and its allies.
