Kathmandu. Pokhara—Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) has launched grant programmes in coordination with ward-level agriculture network and ward offices. Chief of Agriculture Development Section of the metropolis, Manhar Kadariya, said that the grant program has been launched targeting all 33 wards of the metropolis in order to share 50 percent of the cost of the project.
According to him, a total of Rs 5.5 million has been allocated for each ward of 11 wards and Rs 200,000 each for 22 wards of rural areas.
Out of the 33 wards in the metropolis, wards 1 to 10 and 12 have been categorized as market area and others as rural areas. He said that 50 percent subsidy program has been launched to the farmers as per the budget allocation as per the need of the ward-level agriculture network and the ward office.
