Global IME Bank to Organize Second Edition of Hackathon

Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited is going to organize the second edition of the hackathon to promote technology and encourage innovation. Last year, the bank organized the first edition of AI÷ML Hackathon in Nepal’s banking sector.

The Bank is organizing the second edition of Global IME AI÷ML Hackathon on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) from May 29-31, 2026. The competition is open to students interested in technology, startups, developers, engineers, data scientists, researchers and technology professionals.

Applications can be submitted through the bank’s website till May 4, 2026. The first edition witnessed enthusiastic participation of students, start-up operators, developers, data scientists and researchers.

The bank believes that the competition was helped to promote technology-friendly students, startups, developers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, technology professionals and the development of technology-based banking services.

In addition, this hackathon will help to develop innovative services and solve potential challenges in the field of digital banking. The competition will focus on thematic areas of the competition such as The Autonomous Credit and Lending Orchestrator, Agent Fraud Detection, Multilingual Voice Banking Assistant, Sentinels of the Network – AI Driven Intusion Detection (IDS) among others.

The best teams will be awarded cash prizes as well as an opportunity to collaborate with the bank. The bank believes that this hackathon will play an important role in promoting technology-friendly financial services and encouraging innovation to make digital banking services more effective.
