Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has banned Henjan Dorje Private Limited for operating mining and crusher industries by encroaching on forest land. According to the Division Forest Office, Kavrepalanchowk, further investigation is underway to take legal action against the industry, which has been operating unauthorizedly based in Temal rural municipality-1.
According to the Division Forest Office, the Division Forest Office is preparing to file a case against the industry for the excavation of 3.41 hectares or 67 ropanis of forest which has been operating for many years.
Krishna Bahadur Thapa, chief of the Division Forest Office, said that further investigation has been intensified by forming an investigation team after the company was found guilty in the preliminary investigation. According to him, the case will be registered after the team completes further investigation of the closed industry and gathers sufficient evidence.
The office had formed a committee under the coordination of forest officer Hari Chandra Timilsina of the Sub-Division Forest Office, Namobuddha. Timilsina said the industry was shut down in coordination with the District Administration Office, District Coordination Committee and District Police Office.
He said the committee would be preparing to file a case against Henjan Dorje Private Limited within a few days as it has been confirming that the mining and crusher industry has been operating by encroaching on the forest area for many years. The monitoring was carried out following the complaint of the locals and based on the report of further monitoring, an action would be registered against the industry proprietor for encroachment on the basis of the report, it is stated.
The investigation team was given the responsibility of carrying out on-site study of the concerned area, collection of evidences and forwarding the necessary legal process. Similarly, the Office said that the Company has been carrying out technical investigation regarding the amount of materials excavated so far.
Prior to this, locals had lodged complaints at the District Division Forest Office and District Administration Office stating that the Company was operating crusher industries encroaching upon forest area. The local administration has said that action has been initiated after monitoring the industry based on the complaint of the locals.
According to the office, the crusher plant has been registered in the name of Shankraman Tamang and Shanti Lama of Temal-2 and Ram Panta of Panchkhal municipality-11.
