Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a mandamus order to release former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak from judicial custody.

A division bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Sunil Kumar Pokhrel issued the order today. The government has ordered them to be kept outside detention and investigated.

They were arrested on March 24 to investigate the human and material damage caused during the Jenji protests on September 23 and 24. The couple’s spouses, Radhika Shakya and Yashoda Lekhak, had filed a writ petition at the apex court.
