Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has said discussions were underway regarding the inclusion of important elements for the management of government-owned corporations in the budget to be presented in Jestha 15 coming 29 and on what modality to operate some corporations including Gorakhkali Corporation.
Clarifying the government’s views on the current economic, policy and contemporary issues, he said the government’s policy was to maintain economic good governance along with political governance.
Stating that some groups have been frustrated by the government’s investigation into money laundering, he pledged to take necessary action against those involved in illegal transactions. Stating that the government had to initiate investigation into the money laundering even to remove the country from the ‘grey list’, Minister Wagle said that the cases pending for years have been forwarded.
He said the government had taken the necessary precautionary measures and decided to declare a two-day public holiday in view of the escalating conflict in the Middle East. On the occasion, Minister Wagle shared that rescue of Nepalis in trouble in war-torn countries was on priority rather than bringing back 25 lakh Nepalis from war-torn countries.
