Kathmandu. U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an immediate halt to tariffs on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said on social media Truth, citing reports that Iran had imposed tariffs on oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a recent post, Trump accused Iran of being “unfair” and “irresponsible globally” by refusing to allow oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Transit was reported to have resumed after the ceasefire was imposed, but no ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, according to shipping tracking data.

Meanwhile, US Vice President J.D. Vance has vowed to end the ceasefire immediately if Iran does not comply with its pledge to open its waters.

Earlier on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump approved Pakistan’s joint proposal for a two-week ceasefire with Iran for diplomatic talks.
