Bhojpur. A playground has been constructed at Lungin of Hatuwagadhi rural municipality-2. A well-managed volleyball ground has been constructed in 15 localities of the district for the development of sports sector and motivating youths towards positive activities.

The local government has come up with the programme prioritizing the concept of ‘one tole, one playground’. The expansion of sports infrastructure in every locality of the village through this program has made it easier for the youths to practice sports at their own place.

According to Ward Chairman of Hatuwagadhi-2, Vichari Thapa, the goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle, keep youths away from drug abuse and promote social unity along with the development of sports.

After the construction of the stadium, the enthusiasm of the local youths has increased significantly. Volleyball is played regularly in the morning and evening while friendly tournaments are also being held among different localities. According to the locals, this has helped in strengthening mutual relations and maintaining social harmony in the village.

Likewise, preparations have been made to organize ward and rural municipality level competitions in the future along with the construction of playground. According to the ward, the goal is to identify hidden talents and take them to the district and state level.

The ward has also planned to continue sports equipment management, ground upgradation and other sports infrastructure development in the coming days. According to the locals, the development of sports at the local level will significantly contribute to the social and physical development of the entire village.
