Govt spending: Less than 24% of capital expenditure, nearly 54% budget spent in 9 months

Kathmandu. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, the government has spent about 54 percent of the budget. The government has spent 53.97 per cent of the budget till mid-April. The government collected 59.88 per cent of the revenue during this period.

The previous government had presented a budget of Rs 1,964.11 billion for the current fiscal year. According to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office, the government has spent Rs 1059.95 billion in the budget till mid-April.

During this period, the government has spent 63.3 per cent of the recurrent expenditure. The government had allocated Rs 1180.98 billion for recurrent expenditure. So far, Rs 747.52 billion has been spent.

Likewise, the government has so far spent 23.58 per cent of the allocated budget under the capital head. The government had allocated Rs 407.88 billion for capital expenditure. So far, only Rs 96.19 billion has been allocated.

Likewise, 57.63 per cent of the budget allocated for financial management has been spent. It had a budget of Rs 3.75 trillion.

The government has collected Rs 886.28 billion in revenue till mid-April. This is 59.88 percent of the target. The government has set a target to collect Rs 14.80 trillion revenue in the current fiscal year.

The government has achieved 60.26 per cent tax revenue target, 56.67 per cent non-tax revenue and 29.21 per cent of the target.
