Kathmandu. Nepal imported goods worth Rs 1490.49 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Compared to the same period last year, imports from Nepal increased by 13.82 percent.
In the same period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 1309.53 billion were imported. According to the Department of Customs, exports from Nepal have increased by 18.46 percent till mid-April.
Exports increased to Rs 222.93 billion in the same period last year compared to Rs 188.19 billion in the same period last year. The import-export ratio stood at 6.69 percent as of mid-April. It was 6.96 percent in the same period last year.
The trade deficit increased by 13.04 percent to Rs 1,267.75 billion in mid-April. According to the department, it was Rs 1121.33 billion in the same period of the previous year.
