Kathmandu. A case has been filed against medical entrepreneur Durga Prasad Prasai seeking a fine of Rs 100,000, imprisonment up to five years or both.

KATHMANDU: A case has been filed at the Kathmandu District Court on the charge of electronic transaction act.

They have demanded punishment against Prasain as per Section 47 (1) of the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063.

He has also demanded further punishment as per Clause 47 (2) of the same Act and compensation fee to the Victim Relief Fund as per the Crime Victims Protection Act, 2075.

According to the charge sheet, Prasai had made misleading and provocative statements regarding the upcoming elections through Facebook.
