Kathmandu. Locals of Pokhara, who have been affected by the Fewa Lake, have reviewed the old verdict.

The locals have gone for a review against the 65-meter standard set by the Supreme Court for the conservation of Fewa Lake.

The communities that have been living in the area for many years have again gone to the Supreme Court saying that they will be completely displaced.

On April 4, the Pokhara Metropolitan City had installed dozers in 32 structures in the middle of the night. After this, the locals and businessmen of the 65-meter area have become scared.

In 2069 BS, the commission headed by Bishwa Prakash Lamichhane had recommended the implementation of the 30-meter standard. They were disappointed after the Supreme Court ordered to maintain 65 meters everywhere.

A division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Om Prakash Mishra had issued a mandamus order in the name of the government to remove all the structures built within 65 meters of the Fewa Lake.

A division bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Hari Prasad Phuyal on June 18, 2080 BS had ordered the government to immediately remove the structures and annul the illegal registration and reclaim the land in the name of the lake.
