Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump is unhappy with Iran’s latest peace proposal, US media has reported.
The resolution does not include nuclear issues, including the opening of Hormuz and efforts to ease US military sanctions on Iran’s ports, a White House official was quoted as saying.
President Trump discussed the Iran proposal with his top officials during a meeting at the White House on Monday.
According to CNN, Trump is unlikely to accept Iran’s offer.
The official was quoted as saying by The New York Times that accepting Iran’s proposal as it is, which Trump has repeatedly said would overshadow the fact that Iran should not possess its nuclear weapons.
In an interview with Fox News, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted that Tehran’s new proposal should stop Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, even if it is good overall.
Earlier, Trump stressed that any peace deal with Iran would be completed on time and there was no pressure on a ceasefire or negotiations to end the war with Iran.
