Kathmandu. Tribhuvan University (TU) vice-chancellor and other office-bearers have tendered their resignation en masse today.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Registrar Kedar Prasad Rijal, Rector Dipak Aryal, Rector Khadga KC and Registrar Kedar Prasad Rijal submitted their resignations to Chancellor Balendra Shah.

It is said the ordinance recommended by the government to the Office of the President has a provision to remove the office-bearers of the TU.

KC and Rijal were appointed on the basis of merit when Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was the prime minister. Similarly, Aryal was appointed on the basis of merit during the tenure of KP Sharma Oli.
