Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, issued the ‘Special Provision Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officials, 2083’, with which 1594 officials who have been appointed under various acts and structures will be relieved from their posts.

However, the chairperson, director and chief executive officer (CEO) of three state-owned banks including the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will not be relieved from their posts.

The government has amended 110 laws through ordinances. The ordinance did not include the Nepal Rastra Bank Act. Dr Bishwanath Poudel has been relieved of his post.

Likewise, the chairpersons, directors and CEOs of Nepal Bank, Agriculture Development Bank and Rastriya Banijya Bank will not be relieved from their posts.
