Kathmandu. U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that he would review Tehran’s new peace proposal, but said it was “slim” that it would be accepted.

He said Iran’s actions over the past year had “grave implications for the world and humanity” and that the current proposal “cannot be optimistic.”

In a conversation with reporters, President Trump also acknowledged the possibility of military action against Iran again in the future. “If they behave inappropriately or create a problem, such steps can be taken, but right now we are assessing the situation,” he said. ”

Meanwhile, a 14-point peace proposal sent by Iran through a mediator includes an end to the war on all fronts and a new management framework for the crucial Hormuz waterway.

A senior Iranian military official has said that there is a high possibility of a re-conflict between the United States and Iran. He also accused the US of not fully complying with any of the past agreements.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister said it was now up to the United States to decide whether to go for peace or confrontation.

Oil supplies have been affected due to the ongoing tension in the Strait of Hormuz, which has pushed up prices in the world market. At the same time, the impact of the war on Iran’s economy is deepening, due to which oil exports have plummeted and inflation is said to be soaring.
