Kathmandu. A total of 47 candidates have applied for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

This is the first time in Nepal’s history that so many applications have been received for the post of president. It is said that some of those who had applied for the post of president returned without submitting their applications.

Earlier, when the application was opened, there were not so many applications. This time, many applications have been received as it is easier to apply for the post of president. Earlier, an action plan had to be submitted while applying for the post of president. He also had to submit Rs 5,000 revenue in the name of the state while applying for the post of president. A copy of his personal details, a copy of his Nepali citizenship certificate, a certificate of educational qualifications and a document confirming his professional experience were required. Likewise, self-declaration in the prescribed format was required along with the notice for submitting personal details for appointment to the post of Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

As many as 47 people have applied to the Ministry of Finance to show themselves close to the RSP as they are required to submit basic documents for the post of chairperson. The Ministry of Finance has kept the names of 47 people confidential.

The applicants for the post include past applicants, board employees, employees of Nepal Rastra Bank and self-proclaimed experts of NEPSE’s operating stock market.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to appoint National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Dr. A three-member recommendation committee has been formed under the convenorship of Gunakar Bhatta. Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya and former president of Nepal Bankers’ Association Bhuwan Kumar Dahal are the members of the committee.

The committee prepares a list of 5 applicants. 5 people will give a presentation with an action plan. The Ministry of Finance sends the names of 3 of them to the Cabinet. The Council of Ministers appoints 1 person as the Chairman.
