Kathmandu. The stock market closed higher on Tuesday. The stock market, which has been declining for the last 4 days, closed slightly higher today.

On Tuesday, the NEPSE index increased by 8.78 points to close at 2,712.86 points. Likewise, the sensitive float index increased by 1.26 points, while the float index increased by 0.60 points and the sensitive float index increased by 0.47 points.

Although the stock market has risen, the volume of transactions has decreased today. Shares worth Rs 4.26 billion were traded on the previous trading day on Monday, while shares worth Rs 3.43 billion were traded today.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of seven sub-groups have fallen. The index of the remaining 6 sub-groups decreased. The index of the hydropower sub-group increased the most by 1.02 percent on the day. The indices of development banks, finance, hotel and tourism, microfinance, non-life insurance and business sub-groups decreased slightly.

Shares of Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Ltd. rose by 11.16 percent today. Similarly, the share price of Solu Hydropower has increased by more than 7.5 percent and Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has increased by 7 percent. Shares of Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd fell by 9.31 percent on the day.
