The Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project Office has constructed a 20-metre-long concrete bridge over Kaiku Khola of Thasang Rural Municipality.TAG_OPEN_div_10 Information Officer of the Planning Office, Engineer Jem Kumar Baitha, said that the vehicular movement has started after the completion of the bridge.
The contract for the construction of Kaikukhola bridge was signed at a cost of Rs TAG_OPEN_div_8 534,63,624 on April 26, 2081 BS. The access road to the bridge has been upgraded and structures to prevent floods and erosion have also been constructed.
So far, 15 bridges have been constructed under the 202-km Beni-Jomsom-Korala road from Lamdhunga of Parbat to Korala transit point of Tibet Autonomous Region of China.TAG_OPEN_div_6 A bridge is under construction over Ghamikhola of Lo-Ghekar Damodar Kunda rural municipality. Six bailey bridges have also been constructed along the road.
