Baglung. The road linking Ramtola village has been blacktopped. The road linking Ramtola village of Baglung municipality, the district headquarters, has been blacktopped for the first time.
The road was opened in 2072 BS to connect this village which has been backward due to geographical remoteness. The road has been blacktopped after 11 years of its opening. The road stretches five kilometers from Bhakunde Dotetal to Ramtola of Baglung municipality-10. According to Gyanendra Gautam, chairperson of Baglung municipality-11, the road has been blacktopped this year. According to him, blacktopping was done in the first phase from a very narrow and difficult place.
Chairman Gautam said, “Rayadanda and Ramtola villages have been in shadow since long though it lies in the district headquarters, and this year we have started the road linking Ramtola village with the investment of the federal government. ”
The road was blacktopped at the cost of Rs 2.95 crore allocated by the federal government. The blacktopping work has been done through the Road Division Office. Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Engineer Bishnu Lamichhane, said that the Hillside/PK JV was awarded the contract to complete the project on June 8, 2082 BS.
According to him, works like widening one-kilometer road, constructing drains, installing gabbin and blacktopping have been carried out. Engineer Lamichhane said that it was a huge cost to blacktop the short-route road as it has not been upgraded since the opening of the track.
