Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: IME Group is preparing to bring the Jalpadevi cable car that is being constructed at Chisapani of Kailali into operation within the next two months.
The company has claimed that the project will be completed within the stipulated time, saying the construction work has reached the final stage.
Former President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the government has been proving its capacity to complete the projects constructed by the private sector within the stipulated time, cost and quality.
“The private sector has been completing the projects in the stipulated time, budget and quality,” Dhakal said, adding, “We had started the construction of the Jalpadevi cable car project some 11 months ago.” We are also bringing this project into operation on time. ”
IME Group has purchased Rs 3,000 crore from Chisapani of Lamki Chuha Municipality-3 in Kailali to Rajkanda of Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7. A 1-kilometer-long cable car is under construction.
According to the company, a hotel, casino, banquet hall and other structures will be constructed at bottom station while tourism infrastructure like resort, temple, sky walk, walking trail, restaurant and children’s park will be developed at top station.
Stating that Nepal would not achieve the expected economic transformation without expanding investment in tourism infrastructure, Dhakal said that only tourism could bring big change in the economic, cultural and social areas of Nepal.
He believed that increasing investment in tourism infrastructures could increase tourists’ stay, earn foreign currency, create employment and increase revenue.
Dhakal said construction of cable car tourism circuit was a long-term goal of the project and Jalpadevi Cable Car was an important project in that direction. He cited support from local community, political parties and government bodies as the key basis for the project’s success.
The project is located near the Karnali Chisapani Bridge, which is a tourist hub of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Therefore, it is believed that the Jalpadevi cable car will become more attractive for Indian tourists coming to visit Karnali.
