According to Rule 26 of the Telecommunications Rules, 2054, an organization licensed to provide telecommunication services has to pay 4 percent of its total annual income to the Government of Nepal every year as royalty.TAG_OPEN_div_6 However, according to the report submitted by various service providers, out of the total income of Rs 8.84 billion, it was found that 4 percent of the royalty of Rs 353.684 million was not paid.
45 telecom service providers have not paid Rs 35.36 crore royalty.
