1181 climbers get permission to climb mountains in spring season

. The number of foreigners taking permission to climb various mountains in the spring of this year has been increasing.

According to the Department of Tourism, 1,TAG_OPEN_div_26 181 climbers from 79 countries have taken permission to climb mountains in the spring season of 2026. Department’s Information Officer Himal Gautam said permission has been granted to climb the highest number of Everest. A total of 494 climbers from 55 countries have taken permission to climb Mt Everest so far.

A total of 109 Chinese climbers have taken permission to climb Mt Everest.TAG_OPEN_div_24 Gautam said 77 people from the US, 61 from India, 32 from the UK, 18 from Russia, 15 from Australia, 14 from Japan, 12 from Nepal and 10 from Brazil have taken permission for the construction of Mt Everest.

Apart from this, 143 people have taken permission for Lhotse, 111 for Ama Dablam, 56 for Nuptse, 46 for Himlung, 36 for Kanchenjunga and 30 for Dhaulagiri.TAG_OPEN_div_22 Apart from this, permission has also been issued for climbing other mountains.

Mountaineering has already begun while the ascent of Mt Everest has started from May 14. With the completion of rope and road construction, the climbers continue to climb the mountain. Of late, the attraction of foreigners to climb the mountains of Nepal including the world’s highest peak Sagarmatha has increased.
