Still. The power supply has been disrupted due to technical problem in the 12 MVA power transformer of 220/132/33 kV substation located at Markichowk of Aanbukhaireni rural municipality-2 in Tanahu district.
According to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Tanahun Distribution Centre, the power supply has been disrupted since 5:32 pm last evening due to excessive current due to a problem in the transformer’s earthing system. Power to Chitwan has been evacuated to Abukhaireni of Tanahun, Gorkha and Muglin.
A technical team from Pokhara Grid Division was mobilized to resolve the problem. The power supply was brought into operation at 12.45 am but the transformer was shut down again at 6.47 am this morning due to problem in the earthing system, said information officer at Tanahun Distribution Centre, Beni Nepali.
According to him, efforts are being made to operate power supply through alternative lines. Also, if the transformer can be repaired, it will be repaired, otherwise the transformer will be changed if necessary. Currently, the technical team of Pokhara Grid is carrying out the repair and management work at Markichowk substation.
