Kathmandu. Former finance ministers Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani and Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat have given one and a half dozen suggestions to the government for the upcoming fiscal year.

During the discussion held today, former Finance Minister Dr. Mahat and Dr. Lohani has given 7 suggestions.

Dr Mahat suggested the government not to provide social security allowance to the foodies. Similarly, he said that he could not run Nepal Airlines in the privatization model, to lease out the government industries and land, and to lease out all the government except the addition of the private sector if the private sector could not run it.

He also suggested that the government should not encourage the reduction of foreign loans except absolutely necessary and the construction of big highways in the hills. He said that this shows the interest of the contractor rather than the government and the people.

Likewise, he suggested the government to stop some limited collusion in contracts above Rs 5 billion, to give big contracts only by breaking them, to adopt a policy of guaranteeing subsidy only by showing production, to impose VAT on imported agricultural products and to construct a road that will run for 12 months in the Ryton area.

Dr Lohani also suggested creating an environment conducive for working together with the government and private sector, how the budget should address small, medium and big industries and private sector, adopt a policy to encourage the workers and encourage agriculture through grants.

He also suggested running a stable government, implementing the manifesto of incentivizing and punishing employees, understanding the transparency of private sector investment, and finding Indian market for agricultural products.
