Goods worth Rs 7.94 trillion imported in 10 months

Persa. Goods and goods worth Rs 794.87 billion have been imported through Birgunj customs point in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

In the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, goods entered Nepal through the border point which is 102.44 billion or 15 per cent more.

Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the import via Birgunj has increased. According to him, the import of petroleum products and iron and iron products has increased in the current fiscal year. In the first 10 months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 692.43 billion were imported.

Imports of five types of petroleum products amounted to Rs 181.70 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. Likewise, imports of iron and iron goods worth Rs 69.42 billion were also seen in the same period. Machinery and spare parts worth Rs 57.66 billion were imported in the country. Similarly, Rs 55.07 billion worth of soybean oil was imported.
