Kathmandu. The stock market closed higher on Wednesday. Today, the NEPSE index increased by 4.99 points to close at 2782.10 points.

Along with NEPSE, the transaction amount has also increased on this day. A total of 1,52,49,000 shares worth Rs 6.03 billion were traded in the market today, compared to Rs 4.85 billion on Tuesday.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of five sub-groups have increased while the indices of other seven sub-groups have fallen. Banking, development bank, hydropower, investment, life insurance, microfinance, mutual fund, non-life insurance and trade sub-group indices increased on the day.

Today, the share price of Kalinchowk Hydropower Company has increased by 14.98 percent. Today, the share price of Bungal Hydro has increased by more than 13.5 percent.

Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company topped the list on the basis of turnover on the day. The company’s shares worth Rs 71.22 crore were traded on the day.
