Dialogue is underway with India, China and Britain on disputed territories: PM Shah

. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that he was holding talks not only with India and China but also with the British government to discuss the disputed territories of Nepal.
Responding to the questions raised by the lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Prime Minister Shah said that diplomatic efforts were underway to resolve the Nepal-India border issues.TAG_OPEN_div_18
He said that the boundaries delineated during the British rule and the historical issues related to them are still a source of controversy and the UK will also be concerned about it.TAG_OPEN_div_16
He claimed that he had spoken not only to India and China but also to the British government on this issue.TAG_OPEN_div_14 “We believe that the British government should also take interest in the issue of leaving British India as some issues are still to be resolved,” he said. ’
In the meeting of TAG_OPEN_div_12 the House of Representatives, CPN-UML lawmaker Padma Aryal had sought the government’s opinion on the issue of India using Nepali territory to construct the road. In response, he said the Nepal government has sent a diplomatic note to India regarding this regard and the Indian response has been received in that regard.
He said that in India’s reply, he proposed to resolve the problem through dialogue by involving historians and border experts of both countries.TAG_OPEN_div_10
