Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said that many programmes have been included in the budget for the coming fiscal year targeting agriculture and youth. Commenting on the budget, he said necessary arrangements have been made to stop the tendency of misuse of agriculture subsidies. He said that the social security programs that were already in operation have not been cut and have been expanded.
Finance Minister Wagle said that the tax levied on raw materials and materials has been kept low as compared to finished goods. He also said that a clean energy tariff has been levied on electric vehicles (EVs).
According to him, the government has made provision in the budget with the goal of expanding the program to the district and ward level by prioritizing the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also expressed his confidence that Nepal would make significant strides in this sector.
He said that the government has a plan to construct and expand charging stations for electric vehicles across the country.
