Jhapa. According to police, the fire that broke out at the Jhapa Energy Plant at Phulchowk of Shivasatakshi municipality-4 has destroyed property worth around Rs 60 million.

According to Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa, the fire broke out at 2.10 pm today and destroyed various machinery and equipment. The plant is owned by Lal Prasad Sawa, 50, of Shivasatakshi Municipality-9, Dudhe.

The fire was brought under control with the joint efforts of the police team, fire engines from Shivasatakshi municipality and Kamal rural municipality and locals. The area where the fire broke out is five kilometers west-south from the Area Police Office, Shivagunj. The cause of the fire is under investigation, police said.
