. The Survey Department of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has launched a mobile app called ‘Merokitta’. The app was launched today in the presence of Minister for General Administration Pratibha Rawal. Through the app, citizens will be able to get land-related services from their homes.

According to the Survey Department, the app is available on both Android and iOS platforms and can be downloaded from Play Store and App Store.TAG_OPEN_span_9 Online applications can be made for map printing, fieldbook extraction, plot register extraction and field drawing through the app. After registration, an OTP will be available from the system and the subscribers can regularly check the status of their application using mobile number and OTP.

The app also includes the facility of paying revenue through e-service, Khalti, and Connect IPS.TAG_OPEN_span_8 According to the department, the required revenue for field drawing service can be paid online. An arrangement has also been made to get the contact numbers of the office chief and information officer of the survey office through the app.

} The Merokitta service is available in the web version along with the mobile app. On the occasion, Minister for Information Technology Pratibha Rawal said the government’s priority was to expand citizens’ access to public services through the use of information technology. Stating that the compelling for service seekers to visit the office for land-related services was gradually coming to an end, she expressed the belief that the ‘Merokitta’ app would make service delivery more easy, transparent, and effective. Minister Rawal pledged to further expand such technology-friendly services to strengthen digital governance.
