Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to protect, promote and develop the unique and unique historical and cultural heritages within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

“Kathmandu will be developed as an open, vibrant museum and creative city. The government has stated that monasteries, temples, chaityas, ponds, monasteries, stupas, chowks, nani, dabali and falcha and other structures and heritage sites of historical, religious, archaeological, cultural, and social importance would be preserved, promoted and promoted through study, digital archiving, mapping, repair, renovation and reconstruction. Reconstruction of private and institutional buildings of historical, archaeological, cultural and architectural importance and protection of heritage settlements will be encouraged for the preservation, generation, and regeneration of original and traditional skills, art and knowledge. ’
The metropolis has also decided to encourage the construction of heritage-friendly buildings along the Indra Jatra and Seto Machhindranath (Arya Avalokiteshwor) Jatra route and other historical and cultural festivals.
“Homestay will be encouraged to be operated in ancient settlements and cities for tourism promotion and development,” the policy and program states, “Necessary initiatives will be taken to enlist the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO by preserving and promoting intangible heritages, local festivals, art, culture, dishes, traditional instruments and music.” ’
The KMC has stated in its policy and programmes that the metropolis would be rehabilitated ponds, stone spouts (Hiti), rainwater collection and recharge and conservation of water resources to maintain environmental balance.
“Film festivals, traditional food festivals, expos and exhibitions will be organized to promote the original and traditional folk art, cuisine, costumes, crafts, jewelry, festivals, literature, music and natural heritages through the medium of films,” the statement reads. Necessary arrangements will be made for the construction of residences for the main deities of the Rath Yatra of Indra Jatra, Shree Ganesh and Shree Bhairav. ’
