Kathmandu. Member of the House of Representatives, Ranju Darshana, said linking business to social development was a positive initiative. Lawmaker Darshana said this at a blood donation program organized by Golyan Group on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on Sunday.

She also praised the group for connecting itself with the society through social work. “The money earned from business should be invested in the development of the society as well, it is a very good thing to be connected with the society,” she said, “Golyan Group is fulfilling its responsibility towards the society by keeping this in mind, it has also strengthened the relationship with the society.” ’

Stating that the place where the corporate office of Golyan Group is located is also her constituency, lawmaker Darshana suggested the government to involve the people of this area in social work. She said blood donation and other social responsibility activities would benefit the society. “The importance of blood is realized when a person or his/her relative is suffering from lack of blood in a hospital bed,” she said, adding, “Understanding this importance and donating blood is a sacred contribution to the society.” ’

Chairman and Managing Director of Golyan Group, Akshay Golyan, said that the company has contributed to nation’s economy through business and now has given priority to support society through social works. He said that the blood donation program was organized on the occasion of Blood Donor Day as a social work.

“The value of blood cannot be measured in numbers or compared to anything, it is only important to those who need it,” he said. Golyan pointed out the need to respect the changes brought by the younger generation and institutionalize it.
