Kathmandu University invites applications for the post of vice-chancellor

Kathmandu. Kathmandu University (KU) has invited applications for the vacant post of vice-chancellor. Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the selection and recommendation committee formed to recommend the names for the post of vice-chancellor has invited the eligible candidates to apply.

According to the notice issued by the committee, the application can be submitted from the website of the Ministry of Education and Sports within 10 days from the date of first publication. The process for appointment of vice-chancellor has been initiated as per KU’s Procedure on Selection and Recommendation of Vice-Chancellor, 2083 BS.

Earlier, a meeting of the Kathmandu University (KU) Senate had formed a recommendation committee under the coordination of Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel to appoint a new vice-chancellor. The committee comprises former vice-chancellor of KU Prof Dr Suresh Raj Sharma and the National Planning Commission (NPC) as a member of the committee.

The committee will select eligible candidates on the basis of the applications received and recommend the names for the post of vice-chancellor. Kathmandu University (KU) has been making significant contribution to the quality of education, research and innovation, with the appointment of a new vice-chancellor, future educational and institutional development is expected to take further momentum.
