Trump urges Netanyahu to fight Hezbollah

Let’s go to Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to adopt a rescue approach to counter Hezbollah’s targets in Lebanon.

Stressing that the alliance between the two countries is strong, Trump revealed that he disagreed on Israel’s ability to respond aggressively to threats.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for expressing his displeasure with the handling of the military crackdown in Lebanon.

Presenting a proposal that Syria could take control of Hezbollah’s management, he said he was “not satisfied” with Netanyahu, stressing that Israel should be able to “act quickly”.

Trump said the escalation of hostilities had a negative impact on his diplomatic success with Iran. He expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Israeli attack on Beirut two hours before the United States was due to finalize a deal with Tehran.

Trump said he was unhappy with Netanyahu over the rising civilian casualties, noting that thousands of people have died in Lebanon amid intense, daily Israeli bombardment.

Speaking at the G-7 summit in France, Trump said Israel’s long-standing battle with Hezbollah has led to “many deaths”.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump suggested that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sarah should be allowed to take care of Hezbollah so that he could oversee it more effectively.

Tehran said it would bring lasting peace and an end to tensions in Lebanon as the United States and Iran agreed to sign a peace deal later this week.
