ADB approves $115 million concessional loan

{{TAG_OPEN_div_13} Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved USD 115 million concessional loan to improve drinking water and sanitation in municipalities in Nepal.

More than TAG_OPEN_div_11 850,000 people in 13 districts will benefit from the Integrated Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project.

According to ADB, the project will play a major role in expanding access to drinking water and managing sewage and wastewater.TAG_OPEN_div_9

“Due to rapid urbanization in Nepal, the pressure in urban areas is increasing. As a result, many communities are deprived of access to drinking water and basic health facilities,” said Arno Koshwa, ADB Country Director for Nepal. ”
