Koshi Province concludes general discussion on budget

. KATHMANDU: The Koshi Province Assembly has concluded general discussion on the annual budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 in today’s meeting. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Koshi Province, Bidur Kumar Linthep, on June 22, had proposed in the House of Representatives to initiate general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure.

In the discussion, 24 members of the Koshi Provincial Assembly put forth their views with suggestions, suggestions, comments and doubts.TAG_OPEN_div_20 Responding to the queries raised during the discussions, Minister Linthep said that the budget was fair and balanced, saying the constructive suggestions would be taken into consideration.

He claimed that the economic growth rate of the province would be more than five percent due to the investment made by the government in agriculture, irrigation, roads, infrastructure, private sector and UDAYA projects, which has a target of collecting Rs 5.50 billion in internal income.TAG_OPEN_div_18 Stating that technology-friendly education would be implemented in 100 schools in the province, Minister Linthep stressed the need of forging a common view to control wild elephants and monkeys.

He stressed that the government should move ahead by formulating concrete policy as voices are being raised on the issue of monkeys and elephants.TAG_OPEN_div_16 On the occasion, Minister Linthep presented a proposal in the House seeking consideration on the Bill Designed to Provide for Appropriation and Expenditure of Amount from the Koshi Province Consolidated Fund for the Fiscal Year 2083/84.

Similarly, in the special hour of the CPN-UML, Rewati Raman Bhandari on behalf of the parliamentary party of the Koshi Province Assembly and in the zero hour of the Koshi Province Assembly members Sabina Bajgain, Srijana Rai and Meena Shrestha drew the government’s attention on contemporary issues.TAG_OPEN_div_12 The next meeting of the Provincial Assembly will be held at 1 pm on June 24.
