Chaurjahari Transport Office collects revenue of over Rs 31 crore

Kathmandu. Surkhet, Jumla and Chaurjahari transport offices of Karnali Province have collected revenue of Rs 312.351 million in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. Ramesh Subedi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, said that the Transport Management Office Surkhet has collected the highest revenue of Rs 267 million 15 thousand 344 in the first 11 months.

According to Subedi, the Transport Management Service Office based in Chaurjahari of Rukum (West) has collected Rs 30.5 million 63 thousand 321 revenue while the Transport Management Service Office Jumla has collected Rs 14.7 million 73 thousand 205.

Transport is the main source of revenue in Karnali. Vehicle tax accounts for 80 per cent of the total revenue. In the vehicle tax heading alone, Rs 24.97 crore was collected till mid-June.

Surkhet collected Rs 215.66 million while Chaurjahari collected Rs 26.66 million and Jumla collected Rs 73.65 million.
