Division Forest Office collects over Rs 6.5 million revenue in 11 months

Kathmandu. The Division Forest Office, Jumla has collected Rs 6.541 million revenue in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. The office has collected Rs 93,400 from royalty, Rs 475,581 from arrears, Rs 9,175 from other administrative service fees and Rs 5.963 million from other income in the current fiscal year, said forest officer Tejendra Rawal. The Office has been carrying out works for the conservation of forest and control of forest obstruction in recent period.

Forest fire has been controlled nine times, automatic saw has been enlisted one time, furniture industry monitoring regulation has been done 33 times and community forest action plan has been renewed 19 times, said forest officer Rawal. A total of 3.11 million kilograms of herbs were exported from the district during the same period. Encroachment of five hectares of forest land has been prevented in the district.

Division Forest Office’s information officer Prakash Devkota said works are underway to carry out works for 46 forests in eight local levels of the district.

There are 206 community forests in the district. There are 127 confessions and six private forests.
