Birgunj metropolis presents budget of Rs 4.42 billion

persona. Birgunj Metropolitan City has presented a budget of over Rs 4.5 billion for the coming fiscal year 2083/084.

In the 20th session of the municipal assembly held today, Acting Mayor Imtiyaz Alam and municipal executive member Jagat Sah unveiled an estimated budget of Rs 4.42 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_22

As per the budget, Rs TAG_OPEN_div_20 1.96 billion or 44.6 per cent has been allocated for capital expenditure and Rs 50 million or 1.1 per cent for financial management. Likewise, Rs 2.40 billion or 54.3 per cent of the total budget has been allocated for recurrent expenditure.

Rs 1.98 billion from federal intergovernmental financial transfer, Rs 1.48 billion from internal revenue and Rs 246.88 million from federal revenue allocation. The province is expected to receive Rs 52.8 million from inter-governmental financial transfer and Rs 16.714 million from provincial revenue allocation. Earlier, acting mayor Alam presented the annual policy and programme of the metropolis for the coming fiscal year in the municipal assembly.

Similarly, Rs TAG_OPEN_div_16 450 million will be managed from land registration fee, Rs 46.94 million from last year’s cash reserve and Rs 150 million from the Town Development Fund.

The 20 TAG_OPEN_div_14 th municipal assembly convention was attended by Chief Administrative Officer Basanta Bahadur Bohara, municipal executive members, ward chairpersons of all 32 wards, ward members and employees.

The policy and programme of Birgunj Metropolitan City for the fiscal year 2083/084 presented today has laid emphasis on infrastructure development, forest and environment, disaster management, economic development, social development and good governance.TAG_OPEN_div_12
