Around Rs 225 billion revenue collected from Birgunj by mid-June 

Persona. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 221.78 billion in revenue in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

The office had set a target of collecting Rs 249.1 TAG_OPEN_div_18 9 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year. However, only 89 per cent of the target was collected in this period.  Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, claimed that the revenue collection in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year was encouraging.

“The office has collected Rs 17.TAG_OPEN_div_16 97 billion in revenue in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, which is 9 percent more than the previous fiscal year,” he said. The office had collected Rs 203.81 billion in revenue in the first 11 months of the last fiscal year.

The Department of Customs had set a target of collecting Rs 273 TAG_OPEN_div_14.39 billion in revenue for the fiscal year. The office collected Rs 18.44 billion in July, Rs 20.74 billion in August, Rs 19.09 billion in September, Rs 17.33 billion in October and Rs 20.80 billion in November.

} Revenue collected Rs 20.20 billion in December, Rs 18.92 billion in January, Rs 19.34 billion in February and Rs 22.82 billion in March.  The office collected Rs 21.74 billion in revenue in April. It collected Rs 22.32 billion in revenue in the month of May. According to the office, goods and goods worth Rs 890.07 billion have entered Nepal through Birgunj border point in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

In the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 770 billion were imported.TAG_OPEN_div_10 In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, goods worth Rs 99.66 billion have been exported through this customs point.  In the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 96.72 billion were exported.
