Kathmandu. Interviews and presentation of action plans have begun for the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University, Mid-Western University and Agriculture and Forestry University.
The interview and evaluation process of the candidates of all the three universities has been conducted in parallel as per the predetermined executive approved by the Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee of the University.
The process is conducted with the objective of quality transformation of higher education, institutional strengthening of universities and selection of competent, forward-looking, innovation-oriented and result-oriented educational leadership, which is expected to further strengthen the culture of competence, accountability and excellence in university administration. The details of this process have already been made public through the official channel of the Executive Ministry.
Transparency, impartiality, objectivity and institutional credibility of the selection process have been prioritized and the participation of eminent experts in the respective subject areas and members of the Vice-Chancellor selection and recommendation committee has been ensured in each interview panel. In order to make the evaluation process more effective, systematic and qualitative, a separate panel of experts has been arranged for each university.
As per the schedule, presentation and interviews of the remaining two Pokhara University and Rajarshi Janak University will be held on Monday.
Earlier, interviews and action plans presentation of candidates included in the short list for the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Sudurpaschim University and Lumbini Buddhist University were held on Saturday.
With this, the process for selection of vice-chancellors of all the eight universities will be completed in the stipulated timeframe, which is expected to lead to the election of competent leadership, corporate governance and educational excellence in Nepal’s higher education sector.
