57 drivers arrested for using black lead

. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KMC) has penalized 57 drivers for using black film.

Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suresh Prasad Kafle said that the drivers were fined and fined in course of a special traffic check conducted in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday.TAG_OPEN_div_19

According to Kafle, the violation of the rule has been increased as there is a provision prohibiting the use of black glass in vehicles against the law.TAG_OPEN_div_17 “Black glass cannot be used in vehicles against the law. We have taken action and fined 57 vehicles today alone,” said SSP Kafle.

The traffic police have launched a special campaign against the use of black glass in private and public vehicles, especially microbuses and taxis in recent times.TAG_OPEN_div_15

According to the police, the use of black glass makes it difficult to see the activities inside the vehicle from outside and it is easy to hide the smuggling of small arms, drugs, gold and illegal currency, movement of absconding criminals and various criminal activities.TAG_OPEN_div_13

According to Clause TAG_OPEN_div_11 39 of the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049 BS, no change in the color, seat number, form, engine or chassis of a vehicle is allowed to be made without the permission of the concerned body. The traffic police have said that they will continue to monitor and take action against the vehicles using black glass in the coming days as well.
