Adora Holding fined Rs 2,50,000 after potato chain found

. Lalitpur Metropolitan City-3, Jhamsikhel has fined Rs 250,000 after an emergency market inspection found the chain in potato dishes.

A joint team of the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control and the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection had monitored the potato dish on Wednesday after receiving a complaint that a chain was found in potato dishes through WhatsApp.TAG_OPEN_div_10

According to the Department, the monitoring found that three bottles of fruit syrup of one liter each had expired, about three kilograms of chow mein was used without label, artificial food coloring was used, about 33 liters of oil kept after use and the use of refrigerator was unsystematic.TAG_OPEN_div_8

The Department TAG_OPEN_div_6 of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has imposed a fine of Rs 250,000 on Adora Holding as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075. According to the Department, the date expired food items have been taken under control for further investigation, about one liter of high-quality oil and about three kilograms of chow mein without label have been destroyed and instructions have been issued to maintain food hygiene and use the refrigerator systematically.
