Board Chairman Dr Bhatta pledges to make capital market more transparent, credible, competitive and investor-friendly

Kathmandu. The representative of the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SEBON) has appointed the newly appointed Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). Gopal Prasad Bhatta.

During the meeting, Chairman Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatta said he was fully committed to making Nepal’s capital market more transparent, trustworthy, competitive and investor-friendly.

He also expressed the commitment to take all possible initiatives for the development, expansion and strengthening of capital market as per the objectives and priorities set by the government’s budget and policies and programmes.

Noting that mutual coordination and cooperation among regulatory bodies, securities entrepreneurs, listed companies, investors and other stakeholders would be further strengthened for the sustainable development of the capital market, he expressed the belief that the Securities Board of Nepal would move ahead to take Nepal’s capital market to a new height through transparency, good governance, protection of interest of investors and use of modern technology.

During the meeting, Stock Brokers Association of Nepal President Sagar Dhakal welcomed the newly appointed President Dr. On the occasion, Bhatta expressed commitment that the Association would always provide constructive suggestions, support and cooperation for the sustainable development of Nepal’s capital market, enhancing investors’ confidence, expanding the market and making necessary policy and structural reforms.

During the meeting, positive discussions were held on the issues of effective implementation of programmes determined by the budget of the government for the development of capital market, market reforms, development of new financial instruments, investor education, expansion of technology-friendly services and institutional strengthening of the overall capital market.

The president of the association, Dr. He expressed the belief that the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) under the leadership of Bhatta would add new energy to the development and expansion of capital market, further strengthen investors’ confidence and make the contribution of capital market to Nepal’s economic development more effective.
