Cancer awareness and ‘Invest in Travel’ programme held

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A cancer awareness and tourism promotion programme has been held at NK Singh Memorial English Preparatory Secondary School.

The program was conducted under the aegis of Cancer Council Nepal Chairman Rudra Kadaria and a separate session on ‘Invest in the Journey’ on Cancer Awareness.

More than 70 students and teachers of the school participated in the program.

Practical information was imparted to the students through presentations, educational videos and interactive Q&A sessions aimed at informing the students about issues of national importance such as public health and tourism.

Cancer Awareness. Kishor Kumar Pradhananga and Dr. On the occasion, Dr. Pradhananga informed about the early symptoms of cancer, ways to prevent the disease, importance of healthy lifestyle, risks of tobacco consumption, the need for timely health check-up and early detection and the myths and facts related to cancer. They emphasized that the risk of many types of cancer can be reduced by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

School Principal Pramila Singh expressed her gratitude to Guru Travels Limited and Cancer Council Nepal for organizing such program, saying the program would help in personality development, social responsibility and positive thinking towards the future.

According to the organizers, the event has promoted health awareness among students and effectively promoted the concept of responsible tourism. Both organizations have pledged to expand such programs to various schools and communities across the country in the coming days.
