Kavrepalanchok. Vehicular movement along the Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway will not be closed during night due to incessant rains. The road section is currently being upgraded.

The government had decided to ban vehicular movement during night time for 15 days from today to expedite the construction work. The road section was closed from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am for the first phase of blacktopping.

According to the Road Division Office, the road will not be closed as the road has been washed away in some places and damaged in some places due to the incessant rain. Office engineer Sitaram Budhathoki informed that the contractor had to reshuffle the schedule scheduled from today itself and it would be postponed for some time.

Earlier, the District Security Committee, Kavre, had decided to completely shut down the vehicular movement along the road section during night from today till July 18. The government had decided to completely ban the entry of tippers and cargo trucks and to prohibit the entry of other passenger and cargo vehicles only from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am during the mentioned period. The stretch of the road is four kilometers.

Although the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur had announced to expedite the road construction work by halting night vehicular movement from the last week of June, the committee had asked the road construction to delay the road construction process for some time so that the transportation of construction materials would not be affected as it is the end of the fiscal year. Last March, the two-and-a-half-kilometer blacktopping (DBM-PH) was carried out by shutting down the movement during night and one-way operation during the day.
